Description

A delicious and easy cheese ravioli casserole layered with marinara and cheese, perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for greasing
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0 teaspoons black pepper
  • 25 ounces frozen cheese ravioli
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with the olive oil or a quick mist of cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the marinara sauce, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the seasoned marinara over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Arrange a single layer of frozen cheese ravioli over the sauce, nestling the pieces close together.
  5. Spoon more marinara over the ravioli, then sprinkle with a handful of shredded mozzarella and a little grated Parmesan.
  6. Repeat the layers—ravioli, sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan—until all of the ravioli and sauce are used, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  7. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes, until the ravioli are heated through and beginning to soften.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, lightly browned, and bubbling around the edges.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes so it can set slightly.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley, slice into squares, and serve warm.

Notes

  • This dish is great for meal prep and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a spicier version, add some red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
