- 1 cup almond butter (You can substitute with sun butter for a nut-free option.)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate chunks (Ensure they are Halal-certified if needed.)
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, add the almond butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and the egg. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, then sprinkle in the baking soda and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chunks until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
- A toothpick inserted should come out mostly clean.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- Lift them out using the parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
