Description
These cheesy pizza dough balls are perfect as an appetizer or snack, served warm with marinara or pesto for dipping!

- 1 package Refrigerator Pizza Dough
- 30 sticks Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 large Egg
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Rosemary
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Basil
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce or Pesto
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface. Cut it into 30 equal squares.
- Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks into 30 pieces, about 1-inch each.
- Place a piece of cheese in the center of each dough square. Roll the dough to form balls.
- Arrange the dough balls on the baking sheet in a Christmas tree shape.
- Whisk together the egg and a splash of water for the egg wash. Brush over each dough ball.
- Bake for 16-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Microwave butter until melted. Stir in grated garlic and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Brush garlic herb butter over the baked bread and sprinkle remaining Parmesan on top.
- Serve warm with marinara or pesto for dipping.
Notes
- Homemade dough can be used as a substitute for refrigerator pizza dough.
- Mozzarella pearls can be a good alternative to cheese sticks.
- For a lighter option, olive oil can be used instead of butter.
- Dried parsley, rosemary, or basil can be substituted in place of fresh herbs, but use less.
- Garlic powder can be used instead of fresh garlic if necessary.
