Description
This is a simple recipe for making perfect hard boiled eggs.

- 6 large eggs
- Water to cover eggs by 1 inch
- 2 cups ice
Instructions
- Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.
- Cover with cold water until eggs are submerged by at least 1 inch.
- Bring water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, immediately turn off the heat and cover the pot.
- Let eggs sit in the hot water for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on desired yolk texture.
- Transfer eggs to an ice bath and let sit for at least 5 minutes.
- Gently crack and peel eggs under running water.
- Enjoy or store in the fridge.
Notes
- For softer yolks, reduce the sitting time in hot water to 10 minutes.
- For firmer yolks, increase the time to 12 minutes.
