Description

Delicious waffles layered with cream cheese filling and topped with fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Let the batter rest.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add powdered sugar and vanilla to the cream cheese, and mix until fluffy.
  6. Slowly pour in the heavy cream and beat until light and spreadable. Refrigerate the filling until use.
  7. Heat a waffle maker and lightly grease it.
  8. Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden and crisp. Repeat with remaining batter.
  9. In a small saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook on medium heat for 5–7 minutes until syrupy.
  10. To assemble, layer cheesecake filling between two waffles.
  11. Drizzle with strawberry topping and serve with whipped cream or powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the waffle maker is preheated for best results.
  • For added flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to the batter.
