Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
- In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the cream cheese and whisk until softened and melting. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to create a smooth sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet and stir to coat every strand in the sauce. Let it cook together for another minute.
- Finish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Make sure to reserve pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if necessary.
- This dish can be served with additional herbs or grated cheese for extra flavor.
