Description
Delicious and tender cube steaks cooked in a flavorful mushroom broth.
Ingredients

- 4 cube steaks
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 can (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (for slurry, optional)
Instructions
- Place half the sliced onions in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Layer the cube steaks on top, with remaining onions in between if needed.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, onion soup mix, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the cube steaks and onions.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours.
- If a thicker gravy is desired, mix cornstarch with cold water and stir into the crock pot 15 minutes before serving.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, and enjoy!
